Open Heart

by | Dec 26, 2022

As we embrace the last week of 2022, my wish for all of us is that we visualize a serene, peaceful, healthy, and happy New Year! I captured this photo in May of 2022 as we left the Troll Fjord in Norway during the midnight sun above the Arctic Circle, it was actually 1 am! I remember feeling so blessed to experience the beauty and power of that moment, I felt as if anything I desired were possible if I had an open heart… it brought tears to my eyes and this photo will always remind me of that special moment in time!

As the heart is considered the seat of compassion, love, and wisdom, directing
your attention to your heart as a practice at the start or end of your day allows you to spend a few, quiet moments to connect with just you! I invite you to open your heart energetically this week to connect with people, and to have a deep, compassionate self-awareness of knowing your hearts deepest desires…to tap into your innate wisdom, as you bring love and softness to your heart. This practice is a reminder that any time you want to call in more intuitive knowing, self-love, joy, and compassion, that you have the power to do so! Holidays are always so hectic, choose this practice for you…to slow down for just 10-minutes each day at this time of year!

The Practice:Take at least 10-minutes each day this week to bring in the New Year with love and high vibrational energy!

Play some relaxing meditation music that will continue for 10-minutes or longer and turn it on just loud enough so that you can hear it as ambient background music. Lie down in a comfortable position or in bed before getting up or going to sleep. Place your hands over heart and close your eyes and take a breath in through your nose and exhale with a sigh of joy (make a tone) and repeat this three times or until you feel settled and cozy. Send an intention to your heart and then ask the question” Beautiful and loving heart, is there something I need to know, something you need to tell me?”

All inhales and exhales will be through the nose and will be done as belly-breathing (diaphragmatic breathing).
Begin breathing in for a count of 2 – seconds and out for a count of 4 -seconds for two-minutes (approximately 20 inhales-exhales). Repeat the question and repeat the breath cycle for 2 more minute (approximately 20 inhales-exhales). Ask the question again and breathe in for 4-seconds and out for 4-seconds for 4-minutes (approximately 15 inhales/exhales). At the end take a deep breath in through the nose and release with a sigh of joy (make a tone) and repeat 3 times. Place your hands at your side and relax with your eyes remaining closed and listen to the music
andto the answers your heart gave you. Give yourself a big hug and when you feel you are complete with this experience, journal what you learned from your heart and carry it with you into the New Year with so much love! If you did not get answers from your heart, check in a with yourself a few times throughout the day and see what comes up for you…your heart will reveal something to you!
